Dispenser Electronics

Brief Description

The electronic calculator Quitec is intended for the installation into new fuel or LPG dispensers that are equipped with the electronic interface. Alternatively, this calculator is also suitable for the renovation of older fuel dispensers, where it replaces the existing mechanical calculator. The Quitec Calculator is the modern electronic calculator for dispensers based on the fully modular construction and equipped with many adjustable functions.

The core of the Calculator is the electronic site controling unit and a power supply unit. Three lines LCD display with six digits per line is connected to the site controlling unit by the data cable. The Calculator can project simultaneously on the two connected displays and therefore it allows the construction of the double-sided dispenser. The display of the Calculator is backlighted in red. The temperature compensation module can be added to the calculator electronics as well. This module works with the temperature of the medium and eventually with the presure of the vapours in the tank. The keyboard and the Preselection electronics (allows the presetting of the amount and of the total price) are other available modules. All parameters controlling the dispenser during the discharging are set by the infrared remote control. The calculator can be operated by the Console, by the Tankomat (OPT) or by the site controller and the cashier system Quitec. We have developed the communications protocol based on the EPSI standard (European Petrol Station Interface). This allows the connection of our Calculators to ANY compatible cashier (POS) system.

The Calculator is available in two variants depending on the amount of the dispensing hoses. Calculator for one hose is supplied as one compact module (monoblock) containing its own electronics together with the power supply unit. The Calculator suitable for two hoses dispenser is divided between two independent modules; one contains the electronics for both hoses, the other is the power supply unit. Additional modules (the display of the calculator, the preselection keyboard, and the temperature compensation) are identical for both variants of the Calculator.

Electronic calculators can be fitted either directly into the dispenser or they stand-alone.

We have prepared two kinds of Calculators suitable for the stand-alone installation:

• Taurus
• Adamicro

Variant Taurus is designed for the discharge without a dispenser (see Plastic Tanks).

Variant Adamicro is designed for older mechanical dispensers, where the dispensing unit still functions correctly, but the former Calculator does not correspond to the current requirements nor to the actual standards.

Dispenser Display

• I2C interface for the connection to the calculator
• Data of the latest refilling are stored on the display for at least 15 minutes in case of the outage
• 7 segment LCD display, 3 rows of 6 digits each, high contrast

Optional:

• Receiver for the communication via IR driver
• Display back lighting by the fluorescent tube placed behind the display

Preselection Keyboard

• Compact keyboard module with its own electronics
• Robust metallic keyboard, 16 keys, wear and impact resistant, IP68
• Direct numeric input of the preset amount or the price including decimal places
• I2C interface for the connection to the calculator

Temperature Compensation

• Independent module with its own power supply unit
• 4 segregated inputs 4 - 20mA for the sensor connection
• Connection to two temperature sensors
• Connection to two pressure sensors
• Two independent I2C interfaces for the connection to two calculators

The above mentioned technical specifications and the subsequent description are related to the one-hose Calculator. The double-hose Calculator is composed of the two independent one-hose calculators and its parameters and operation are identical to the one-hose device.
